Ottawa, Ontario—Hannon’s Cindy Ishoy is holding onto fourth place in the declared riders points qualifying points race for this year’s Canadian League World Cup Finals.
Ishoy, a three-time Olympian, has six points. Co-leaders Jacqueline Brooks of Mt. Albert, Ont., and Sainte-Adele, QC native, Evi Strasser of Sainte-Adeele, Que., sit with 25 points.
Ishoy earned her points by a win last year at the Canadian dressage final held at the Royal Winter Fair. Paired with her Athens Olympics mount, the 12-year-old Baden-Wurttemberger gelding Proton, Ishoy received a score of 69.00% for her qualifying points. Third place is held by Jon Costin of Puslinch, Ont. He has 13 points.
Recently declared riders that will soon be joining the point-chase are Tina Busse-Irwin of Lakefield, ON with Amicelli, Jessica Costello of King City, Ont., and Litmanen, Tom Dvorak of Hillsburgh, Ont., aboard Westside Lady and Nancy MacLachlan of Terra Cotta, Ont., with Ariston.
Following the Dressage Canada Canadian League World Cup criteria, a rider/horse combination earns points based on their results in Grand Prix Freestyle classes at CDI-W, CDI3* and Equine Canada National competitions. Standings are updated throughout the year as declared riders collect points and can be viewed at www.dressagecanada.org.
Traditionally held at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, this year’s Canadian League World Cup Final is scheduled for Nov. 8 – 10.
