Kitchener might be the Panthers, but they took a mauling last night in senior Intercounty Baseball League play. The visiting Brantford Red Sox put together a 22-hit effort that included six homeruns and pounded the Panthers 16-3.
Hyung Cho and Jason Gotwalt smacked a pair of home runs each to pace the Red Sox. Chung was four-for-six and scored four times while Gotwalt had three hits and drove in four runs. Dave Parsons and Adam Vella had the other round trippers.
Ryan Brickman (2-0) allowed two runs and four hits while striking out seven and walking four in eight innings for the
Jeff Pietraszko had a pair of hits, including a home run, and drove in two runs for Kitchener, who visits Bernie Arbour Stdium for a 7.30 p.m. game on Friday (June 23).
The win moved Brantford into a tie for fourth place, five back of the leaders, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
