There’s nothing like making a first impression. In her debut start at Flamboro Downs on Saturday night, Luck Of Michelle wiped out the previous world record and put up a new standard.
The two-year-old filly stopped the clock in 1:53.3, erasing the previous record of 1:54.1 shared by Aries Conquest and Thereal Ideal.
And if the one-mile pace record wasn’t enough, the Mike Saftic-driven daughter of Camluck-Michelles Destiny was a 13 3/4 lengths winner in a division of the Flamboro Downs Breeders Stakes, paying $4.20.
Luck Of Michelle, who left the gate at the No. 1 pole, is owned by Karen Carroll of Shedden (Ontario) and Natalie Pentland of Dorchester (Ontario).
