Flamboro Gamblers grad Ellis joins OHA in new position

The Ontario Hockey Association has added a new, but not unfamiliar, face. Mark Ellis joins the full-time staff of the provincial body in the newly created position of Executive Director. The 31-year-old Milton resident has been with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association since 2001.

His duties with the OHA will include web-site management, general administration and special events.

Ellis will be remembered in Flamborough where he played Junior C hockey for one season (1993-94) with the Gamblers. When he finished high school, Ellis left for the United Kingdom where he played professionally for four seasons.

He was a member of the Bracknell Bees for two seasons (1995-97) playing in the British Ice Hockey League and the Super League.

He then suited up for the Peterborough Pirates in the British National League for two seasons (1997-99) before returning to Canada.
