Five players let go by Hamilton Bulldogs

Four defencemen and one forward have been released by the Bulldogs, five days before the Hamilton team opens the 2006-07 American Hockey League season.

Blueliners Conrad Martin, Pier-Oliver Beaulieu, Frederic St. Denis and Andre Joanisse along with forward Daniel Pegoraro were let go on Monday.

Martin will return to the East Coast Hockey League’s Cincinnati Cyclones while Pegoraro and Beaulieu will report to the ECHL’s Texas Wildcatters. St. Denis will return to the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and Joanisse will suit up at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.

The Bulldogs first game of the new campaign will be against the Manitoba Moose. The puck drops at 7:30pm on Friday night.
