There will be two fewer players on the Bulldogs roster Friday night when they welcome the Hershey Bears to Copps Coliseum.
Hamilton’s AHL team assigned goalie Cedrick Desjardins to Cincinnati Cyclones of the East Coast Hockey League. Defenceman Scott Crawford will join the ECHL’s Reading Royals.
The Bulldogs game with Hershey is Hamilton’s second of the new AHL campaign. Hamilton opened the 2006-07 season last Friday with a 5-3 home-ice win over the Manitoba Moose.
Hershey has played only one game this season and that was a 7-4 win over Wilkes-Barre-Scranton. Hershey is in the Eastern Conference’s East Division while Hamilton is in the Western Conference’s Nortg Division.
Last year against the Bears, who won the Calder Cup by beating the Milwaukee Admirals 4-2 in the best-of-seven finale, the Bulldogs lost both meetings. In 20 all-time meetings between the two teams Hamilton is 6-11-3.
Gametime at Copps is 7.30 p.m.
The following night, Hamilton takes to the road for the first of four meetings with the Albany River Rats. The two teams did not play each other last season.
