Niagara Knights ruled the day on Friday, taking a men’s-women’s basketball doubleheader from the Mohawk Mountaineers.
The men lost 94-70 and the women were stopped 49-34 in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association basketball play in Welland.
In men’s action, Igor Trbojevic (Hamilton) sunk 16 points for the Mountaineers. Dave Almas (Hamilton) had 14 and Panyin Kyei (Toronto) added 12 more for the visitors, whose record dropped to 2-2. The team goes to Sarnia Wednesday (Nov. 15) to face the Lambton Lions.
In women’s play Mohawk slipped to 0-3, losing 49-34 to the Knights. Lisa Arndt (Hamilton) was the top scorer for the Mountaineers with 12 points.
Mohawk’s next action is at the Durham Invitational in Oshawa Friday and Saturday (Nov. 17-18).
