Cambridge centre tops National Ringette League scoring

While the Cambridge Turbos lost their No. 1 national ranking, forward Jennifer Gaudet was named the National Ringette’s League’s player of the month for December.

The 26-year-old centre has scored 18 goals and contributed 28 assists to lead the NRL in scoring after 13 games.

The offensive-minded Turbos (93 goals for and 41 against), with their 11-1-1 record, fell to the No. 2 spot after dropping a 9-1 decision to the Montreal Mission. The Mission, undefeated in league play, took over the top spot. Cambridge enjoyed the top ranking for two months in the Elite Eight grouping.

The Edmonton WAM! rebounded nicely from their only loss of the season (against BC Reign in late November) to win seven games in a row, to round out the first half of the season in third spot. Behind the WAM! are the Calgary RATH and Edmonton Edge.

The Ottawa Ice are in sixth spot with the Waterloo Wildfire next. The BC Reign hold down the eighth position.
