Hamilton Bulldogs ended a four-game losing streak and doubled up the Wolves 6-3 on Saturday night in Chicago.
Pacing the Bulldogs to their 23rd win of the season were Mikhail Grabovski (11) and Andre Benoit (4), each with a goal and two assists in the American Hockey League game.
Jean-Philippe Cote (2), Zack Stortini (9), Jonathan Ferland, and Ajay Baines (8) had the other goals for the Bulldogs, who led 3-1 after a scoreless first period and the second period.
The Wolves had three powerplay goals from Troy Milam, Milton native Darren Haydar, and Derek MacKenzie.
Benoit’s and Grabovski’s goals were also with the extra man.
Baines scored his marker into an empty net after the Wolves pulled their netminder in favour of the extra skater at 17.33 of the final period.
Hamilton outshot the Wolves, 31-41, before 8,908 fans.
Hamilton returns home for a two-game series with the Grand Rapid Griffins on Friday and Saturday nights (Jan 19-20).
Friday’s game at Copps begins at 7:30; Saturday’s game starts at 7 p.m.
