Milwaukee out-gun Bulldogs in AHL shootout

The Hamilton Bulldogs lost 3-2 in a shootout to the Milwaukee Admirals on Friday night at Bradley Center. The overtime loss drops the Bulldogs record to 34-21-2-4 on the season.

The teams exchanged power-play goals in the first period. The Admirals’ Rich Peverley opened the scoring with his team-leading 28th goal at the 4:09 mark. Hamilton replied when Mathieu Biron took a pass from Danny Groulx and blasted home his seventh tally of the campaign from the point. Corey Locke, who won the face-off back to Groulx, also earned an assist on the goal.

With his team-leading third shorthanded goal of the season, Matt D’Agostini gave the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead at 11:00 of the middle stanza.

Milwaukee pulled even just 1:55 into the final period when Jason Guerriero posted his 12th marker.

After a scoreless overtime, the game went to a shootout. Scoring for the Bulldogs were Mikhail Grabovski and D’Agostini, while Peverley, Guerriero and Chris Durno tallied for the Admirals.

Between the pipes, Yann Danis returned to action for the Bulldogs after missing the previous three contests due to injury. He made 35 saves on 37 shots while Rinne turned aside 26 of the 28 shots he faced from Hamilton.
Both teams were 1-for-6 on the power play.

The Bulldogs play in Chicago tonight (Saturday) when they meet the Wolves at 8 p.m. The game can be heard on 820 CHAM.
