Hamilton Junior Red Wings could wrap up their Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League playoff series tonight (Saturday) with a win in Georgetown.
The Wings lead the best-of-seven series against the Raiders 3-0. Gametime at the Mold-Masters Sportsplex is 7.30 p.m.
Hamilton put themselves in the driver’s seat of the West Division final with a 4-3 overtime win on Thursday at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena. Corey Stringer scored the winning goal while Hamilton was on the power play.
Raiders made a spirited comeback, trailing 3-0 going into the third period. The visitors scored three goals in the final six minutes to force the extra session.
Wes Consorti, Kyle Zettler, and Zac Rinaldo had given the Red Wings the 3-0 lead.
Goalie Cam Talbot was largely responsible for the Hamilton win, stopping 48 of the 51 shots he faced. Hamilton had 38 shots on net.
