Hamilton Olympic Club members were once again struttin’ their stuff, with two track event appearances.
Competing at the Bramalea Bullets Indoor Track Meet, Meaghan Boatsmith placed fifth in the Mite Girls (5 to 8 years old) 50 metre hurdles, with a time of 12.85. She also garnered seventh place in the long jump with a 1.70m leap.
In the Tyke Girls (9-10), Jenna Smith was second in the 400m event (1:23.43) and sixth in the 50m dash (8.66). Tom Manson grabbed third in the Tyke Boys 800m run (3:03.02) and fourth in the 400m event (1:19.08).
In the Atom Boys (11-12) division, Liam Smith was 10th in the long jump (3.74m) while Simon Fothergill was 22nd (3.34). Fothergill also placed 12th in the 200m race (33.48) and was 22nd in the 50m sprint (8.28).
In the Senior Girls (13-14) class, Elisha Ladeza was second in the high jump (1.35m) and placed 25th in the 200m (31.81). She also had a time of 7.57 in the 50m dash. Madison Gunn was fourth in the 50m hurdles (9.24) and took sixth in the high jump (1.15m) while placing 11th in the long jump (3.92m).
Heather Dumitru had a 12th in the 400m (1:11.22) event and a 13th in the 800m (2:45.11) race. Sydney Manson clocked 1:19.00 to place 26th in the 400m event.
In the Senior Boys division, Connor DeJong had a 10th in the high jump (3.91m) and a 15th in the 50m (7.57) race. Mark Noordam placed 13th in the long jump (3.63m) and was 21st in the 50m (8.18) event.
At the Minor Track Indoor Championships held at York University, Ladeza was fourth in the Senior Girls high jump (1.25m). She also placed 20th in the 60m dash (9.10). Heather Dumitru took 14th in the 400m (1:13.22) race while placing 21st in the 800m (2:57.44). Michelle St. Pierre clocked 1:17.86 in the 400m and was 18th. She finished 22nd in the 800m (3:04.19) while Dagne Collins was 25th in 3:12.70.
Adam Rowles clocked 1:05.36 in the Senior Boys 400m to take fourth place and he was 11th in the 1500m test in 17.52.
Peter Turk was seventh in the 200m (27.60) and 14th in the 60m (8.68).
