Thunderbirds gearing for 2008, tryouts continue Saturday

The 2007 World SANDLOTT Champion Canadian Thunderbirds Elite Baseball Club will be continuing Hamilton tryouts for their elite teams on Saturday, August 18, 2007.

This is an opportunity no player who has elite calibre potential, and feels that he can play at this level should miss – be a part of any one of the four Canadian Thunderbirds Elite Baseball teams. More than 30 college and university, or players with Major League Baseball aspirations who have graduated from this program, played this summer for the eight teams of the Intercounty Baseball League.

The Saturday, August 18th tryouts will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 12 noon for the 14 and 15 and unders, and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for the 16 and 18 and under players at the Stadium.

The cost to attend the tryouts is $10 per person for positions on the Junior Division (14 and under and 15 and under), and Senior Division (16 and under and 18 and under) teams beginning Wednesday in Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium. Refreshments will be provided.

The stadium is situated in Mohawk Sports Complex at the corner of Upper Kenilworth and Mohawk Road East in Hamilton.

Tryouts will also be conducted throughout the month of August in additional locations in Kitchener, Guelph, St. Catharines, Mississauga, and Toronto. For information about these dates and times, refer to the Canadian Thunderbirds website:
