Rugby Mountaineers stall after strong OCAA start

After five wins to start the season, the Mohawk men’s rugby team has suffered its second straight defeat.

The Mountaineers dropped a 17-12 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association verdict to the Seneca Sting in North York on Wednesday (Oct. 17). Mohawk remains in first place, but just barely. With six bonus points they have 26 points overall. Peterborough Fleming has 24 points with a game in hand on the Mountaineers.

Seneca, the only undefeated team at 5-0, has 23 points and two games in hand on Mohawk. And Humber with 21 points, has also played two fewer games than the Mountaineers. Mohawk plays host to Humber on Friday, Oct. 26.
