Rivermen blank Bulldogs in Peoria

Hamilton was blanked 5-0 by the Rivermen on Tuesday in Peoria, dropping the ‘Dogs American Hockey League record to 8-11-0-3.

Peoria took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Mike Glumac (5) and Nikolay Lemtyugov (5) . The hosts went up 3-0 when Micki Dupont posted his third goal of the season at 4:53 of the middle stanza. Charles Linglet completed the scoring with his seventh and eight goals of the season in the second period.

In his 150th career AHL appearance, netminder Yann Danis suffered the loss with 11 saves on 16 shots before giving way to Cedrick Desjardins, who stopped the 13 shots he faced. Chris Beckford-Tseu was perfect for the Rivermen, stopping 25 shots for the shutout.

Hamilton went 0-for-6 on the power play, while Peoria was also 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

Hamilton returns to action tonight (Wednesday, Dec. 12) at 7 p.m. when they travel to Grand Rapids to take on the Griffins.
