In Stoney Creek Women’s Hockey League senior rec action, Lori Reid figured in all the goals, scoring four times and adding one assist to lead her Dofasco Canucks to a 5-0 victory over the Stoney Creek Panthers.
Jane Bauder had the shutout. Krista Cardwell potted the other Canuck goal. Picking up assists on the goals were Dawn Goddard, Melinda Cantwell, Sheri Sheran and Kim Badgley picking up assists.
Lynne Vidal had a natural hat trick to open a three-goal lead for her Stoney Creek Pink squad. Purple Haze answered back with goals by Katie Poliquin and Sarah Luff but it wasn’t enough as Pink held on for a 3-2 win. Pink assists went to Tara Lee Beaudoin (2), Shelley Mayo and Sandy Lemmon.
Natasha Fleming and Cheryl McCutcheon recorded assists for the Purple Haze.
Julie Rioux scored the game’s only goal and Yvette McCormick had the shutout in a 1-0 win for the Last Chance Garage over Weils Bakery of Westdale. Tracy Batchelor and Tracy Green assisted on the goal.
After the Dofasco Steel Ducks Sandy MacNeil opened the scoring with the only goal in the first period, the Stoney Creek Opti-Mrs Right Wingers stormed back, led by Pam Dawson and Nadine Corbett, each scoring twice, to pace the Opti-Mrs to a 6-1 victory.
Kim Brown and Cheryl Morash had the other Opti-Mrs goals with assists going to Lisa Brown (3), Cheryl Durham (2) and Kim Brown. Christina Williamson had the helper on the Steel Duck goal.
Debbie Lammie was solid in net backstopping her Stoney Creek Admiral Trophies Peelers to 2-0 win over the Stoney Creek All Cover Black Attack. Shelly Hogan and Lindsay McDuffee scored the Peeler goals. Elissa Cherubini, Jenn Lacombe, Lee Weatherill and Holly Aitchison picked up assists.
Emily Kinread scored twice to lead the Stoney Creek Larry’s Sports Sharks to a 3-0 win over Dofasco Avalanche. Jody Solski had the other Sharks marker with Carla Louks and Solski picking up assists. Mel McFarlane had the shutout behind strong team defence.
In Grimsby, goalie Martine Esraelian had the shutout as her Stoney Creek F & M Signs topped the Teddies & Slessor’s Grimsby Girls, 2-0, Katie Tansley and Lindsay Logan scored the goals with an assist to Stephany Urbshas.
In recent Masters action, Kim Badgley scored the winning goal as the Dofasco Flames edged the Stoney Creek Pink by a 2-1 margin. Dawn Goddard had the other Flames marker while Kathy Wyatt and Wendy Dexter counted assists. Lynncy Powell replied for the Pink squad.
Corrine Currie scored twice to pace her Stoney Creek White team to a 4-0 victory over the Stoney Creek Pink. Sam Goehner and Cindy Stratford also scored with assists to Margaret Wilson, Debbie Nott and Stratford. Noelle Notto-Gibson had the shutout.
