Mountaineer vollyball mates add player, team of week honours

The Mohawk men’s volleyball team is the Men’s Team of the Week after winning the OCAA Championship. And for the third time this season, Mohawk College volleyball star Jasmin Cull has been named male athlete of the week in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association.

The champion Mohawk men’s vollyball team is OCAA Team of the Week.

The Mountaineers defeated the defending champion Algonquin Thunder in three straight games to take the Gold Medal match at Fanshawe College in London February 23.

Cull led the Mountaineers to the OCAA volleyball gold medal at Fanshawe College in London this past week (Feb. 21-23). The 24-year-old left side player from Ancaster High School was at his power hitting best in the championship match, as Mohawk swept defending champion Algonquin.

Cull had 30 points, including 28 kills in the final, a fitting way to end a season which saw him set both the single season and career records for aces.

The Mohawk men now prepare for the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Championship, March 7-9 at Humber College in Etobicoke.
