Hamilton’s Alaine Hutton, a third-year guard with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, has been named to the East division all-star team in Ontario University Athletics women’s basketball.
Hutton finished the season fourth in OUA scoring averaging 17.1 points per game, with 53 steals and a team-high 79 assists.
Also making the first team selection is Paris native Laura MacCallum. She received her second consecutive selection after finishing the season with a 16.5 points per game average to top the York Lions’ scorers. She also had a remarkable 88.6% average from the charity stripe, while playing a team high 33.7 minutes per game.
Making the second all-star team was St. Catharines native Sarah Barnes of Queen’s while Hannon’s Brittany Moore (Queen’s), Burlington’s Alaina Porter (Queen’s) and Niagara-on-the-Lakes Brittany Szockyj (York) found spots on the all-rookie squad.
