Brooms of gold for Mohawk’s mixed OCAA curling team

The Mohawk mixed curling team returned home from Windsor wearing gold medal from the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Curling Championship.

After a perfect 4-0 record in the round robin, Kris Blonski’s rink earned a bye to the final where it defeated Confederation College of Thunder Bay 7-4.

Other members of the Blonski foursome included Kathryn Papaioannou, Russ Gray and Aimee Smith.

Barry Macklin, from the Glendale Golf and Country Club, coached the team.

Mohawk’s men’s team, skipped by Collin Bower, and the women’s crew, led by Eric Bridge did not make the medal round.
