Five runs in the last two innings carried the Brantford Red Sox to a 7-2 win over the Hamilton Thunderbirds. The visitors to Bernie Arbour Stadium scored two runs in the eight and three more in the ninth to hand the T-Birds their seventh loss against three wins in the senior Intercounty Baseball League
Stefan Strecker went seven innings for the win on Sunday (June 1), allowing one run on five hits with one strikeout, and Jon Ogiltree finished up the final two innings, allowing one run on three hits.
Lee Delfino hit a two-run homer and had two hits for the Red Sox, who moved into sole possession of second place with the win at 7-2. Tyler Burnell had a triple and Josh McCurdy added three singles for Brantford.
Jesse Reinstein was the loser for the Thunderbirds, allowing seven hits over seven innings with two strikeouts and two walks. Jesse Robertson and Mike Bonanno both had two hits for the Thunderbirds. Hamilton was out hit 12-8.
Hamilton travels to Stratford On Tuesday to play the Nationals.
