Canadians Kok, Cameron continue rowing mastery

Melanie Kok of St. Catharines and Tracy Cameron of Shubenacadie, N.S., rowing in the women’s double event, won their second finals’ race at the Koninklijke-Holland Beker (June 7 and 8) in Amsterdam on Sunday.

Kok and Cameron won in 6:56.36 in the women’s double event. In a repeat of yesterday’s order – Belarus was second in 7:04.86 and the Netherlands third in 7:05.8.

This is Canada’s only entry in the regatta. Kok and Cameron have already qualified for the Olympics. They typically row in the lightweight event and the crew’s next major test is the World Cup in Poland (June 20 to 22).

The Koninklijke – Holland Beker, established in 1886, is the largest international rowing event in the Netherlands. The regatta is held on the Bosbaan in Amsterdam each year.
