Rain leaves the Nationals up the (Stoney) Creek in Little League tourney

The Dundas Athletics and Oakville Marlins both advanced from Pool ‘A’ of the 2008 District House League baseball tournament to the semi-finals on Saturday, June 21 at Optimist Little League Park in Stoney Creek.

Oakville advanced by going 2-1 in the preliminary round, defeating the Ancaster Mets by forfeit, 6-0, and the Dundas Athletics 10-4. The only blemish was a 4-0 loss to the Stoney Creek Nationals. Dundas advanced by going 1-2 in the preliminary round defeating Ancaster 5-4. Dundas also lost to the Erindale Red Sox, 11-2.

Oakville scored 16 runs while allowing eight. Dundas scored 11 and allowed 25.

Pool ‘B’ has not been decided due to the game between the High Park Athletics and Stoney Creek Nationals being postponed due to the weather conditions on Friday (June 13) night. The game is now scheduled for Friday, June 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Stoney Creek Optimist Little League Park.

Because of this schedule change, the semi-final games scheduled for Friday night have been moved to Saturday, June 21 at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. while the championship game will played on Sunday, June 22 starting at 1:05 p.m. The semi-finals and championship will be played at Optimist Little League Park in Stoney Creek off Highway 8.
