‘Canes make return to OFC with road game

The 2008 Ontario Football Conference schedule has been revised following the withdrawal of the Northern Clansmen. The 2008 season now opens Saturday, Aug. 9 with two games.

The returning Hamilton Hurricanes will travel to St Leonard for a 7 p.m. kick off with the eight-time defending OFC champion Cougars. Former Canes’ players president Brian Copeland and head coach Jason Hayes lead the team into the 2008 season.

The other opening day game will have the London Beefeaters hosting the Burlington Braves at 7 p.m. The Windsor AKO Fratmen enjoy the opening weekend bye.

The eight-game schedule ends Saturday, Oct. 11 with the OFC playoffs to follow. The OFC champion will be host for the 2008 Canadian Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 8. The complete 2008 OFC schedule can be found at www.ofcfootball.com
