Flint moved to within one series of tying Hamilton for overall wins after this past weekend’s victory in CANUSA Games competitions.
The host Michigan city took this year’s events, 13-3, giving them 23 annual victories in the 51 years of the annual friendly competition between the two cities. Four years ended in ties.
Overall, Flint won in basketball, 24-2, baseball 7-0, softball 5-1, soccer 11-3, track and field 811-526, volleyball 7-5, gymnastics 304.725 – 288.325, skeet 987-968, tennis 7-2, 10 pin bowling 112-98, men’s slo-pitch 2-0, karate 502-22, and darts 103-87.
Hamilton’s wins came in lawn bowling 4-4 (ties are awarded to the visitors), swimming 641-219, and golf 39.5-30.5.
Hamilton’s Fred Eisenberger took the Mayor’s Challenge with a 3-1 lawn bowling upset.
