Mountaineers’ women cagers remain perfect on northern trip

The Mohawk women’s basketball team made it two straight wins as they downed Algoma University 55-52 in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday (Nov. 22).

With the victory, the Mountaineers evened their record at 3-3 in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association’s West Region. The hometown Thunderbirds dropped to 2-3.

The news was not good, however, for the Mohawk men’s team, which lost 113-85 to Algoma. The Mountaineers fell to 3-5 in the West, while the Thunderbirds improved to 2-4.

The Mohawk men were 1-1 on the weekend trip up north. Friday they trimmed Sault College 118-86.
