Desjardins is a Grinch leading Bulldogs to shutout win

Goalie Cedrick Desjardins’s stinginess and Mike Glumac’s offensive manner took the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 2-0 win over the Manchester Monarchs on Friday (Dec. 19).

The shutout for Desjardins, who stopped 35 scoring attempts, was his second in the American Hockey League this season. He has now made 70 saves on 71 shots in his past two games.

For his part, Glumac scored a goal and added an assist. He opened the game’s scoring at 18:45 of the first period when Hamilton had a man advantage. Shawn Belle fed a pass to Glumac and he beat goaltender Jonathan Bernier for his team-leading seventh power-play goal.
Yanick Lehoux snapped an 11-game goal drought with his marker at 5:31 of the final frame. Max Pacioretty and Glumac assisted on the counter.

Hamilton had 25 shots on net.
