McCoys call upon veteran in late-season charge

With four teams within three points of first place in Major League Hockey, each game becomes more important. With that in mind, the Dundas Real McCoys have added a veteran forward to their lineup – Tyler Pelton.

Pelton, who played for the Real McCoys in 2002 as an affiliate player, will join his old club for the stretch run this Friday night. After the 2002 season, Pelton signed with the Brantford Blast, and captained the McCoys rivals. His veteran leadership helped mould the Blast into an Allan Cup Championship team last season.

“We look forward to having Tyler join us as we prepare for what we hope is a long and successful playoff run,” said McCoys’ general manager Don Robertson. “His leadership and competitiveness will be an asset as we move late into the season.”

Dundas will welcome the Orillia Tundra this Friday (Jan. 31) in the J.L. Grightmire Arena at 7:45 p.m.

The McCoys have also teamed up with the organization behind the Owl’s Roost Reunion, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 14 in the Dundas Community Centre. This fund raiser is sponsored by the Real McCoys and a portion of each ticket sold for the event will be donated to charities supported by the McCoys. Tickets are available at all home games from members of the McCoys’ executive, in particular, Doug Paddon at the admission gate.
