The Mohawk Mountaineers are still alive to defend their Ontario Colleges Athletic Association men’s volleyball crown.
The Mountaineers downed the Durham Lords 3-2 in quarter-final play at the Fennell Gymnasium on Friday (Feb. 20). Last year’s gold medallists, ironically, will play in the final four event at Durham next weekend, (Feb. 27-28) while the host Lords can only watch.
The other three teams will be determined this weekend when Humber goes to Algonquin, Trent visits Fanshawe and Loyalist plays at Seneca.
Meanwhile, the Mohawk women are in Belleville to meet the Loyalist Lancers in quarter final action on Saturday (Feb. 21). The other games see Georgian at Humber, St. Clair at Algonquin and Durham at Nipissing.
The winners advance to the OCAA Championship, also at Durham, Feb. 27-28.
