Time to find the gloves for Cal Ripken

Spring is in the air and the fifth year of Battlefield Baseball is set to hit a grand slam for the season.

On line registration is open for all divisions of Battlefield Baseball at www.leaguelineup.com/battlefieldbaseball. In person registration for Cal Ripken T-Ball (ages 4-6 as of April 30, with $60 registration, games on Mondays and/or Tuesdays), Cal Ripken Rookie (ages 7-9, $80, games on Wednesdays), and Cal Ripken Minor/Major (ages 10-12, $95, games on weekends), and Babe Ruth (13 year olds, $95, games on weekends) will take place on three Saturdays – March 7, 14t, and 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at King Pizza (44 King St., E., in Stoney Creek) and at the CATCH offices (131-350 Quigley Rd, Hamilton).

In-person registration will also be available from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 11 and 25 at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Elementary School (Albright Road, Hamilton) and Wednesday, April 1 at Collegiate Avenue School (Collegiate Ave., Stoney Creek).

Battlefield Baseball is affiliated with Babe Ruth League Inc., which is North America’s fastest growing youth baseball program. When Battlefield affiliated four seasons ago, total registration was 900,000 kids. Today 1.67 million kids are playing Babe Ruth League programs, including Cal Ripken Baseball.
