Rec teams to put heart into tournament

Hockey with heart could be the theme on May 9th. That’s when the second annual Angelo Tinebra Memorial Heart and Stroke Hockey for Heart Tournament takes place.

Hockey for Heart is a one day tournament for recreational players who want to have fun playing hockey while raising funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Twenty teams from the Hamilton area will collect funds and play hockey to support life-saving Heart and Stroke Foundation Research. The tournament will include three divisions: men’s, women’s, and co-ed. Teams are guaranteed three games.

Top fundraisers will have the opportunity to Shoot to Win in a $30,000 contest, enter a draw to win The Ultimate Hockey Bag filled with prizes, and have the chance to play in the NHL Oldtimers game in the final game of the tournament.

Interested teams should contact Jessica Lee at 905-574-4105, or jlee@hsf.on.ca to register.
