The Hamilton Bulldogs clinched an American Hockey League playoff berth, despite losing to the Manitoba Moose, 2-1, in overtime on Friday night (March 27).
The Bulldogs struck first, scoring at 9:21 of the first frame. Ryan Russell deflected Kyle Chipchura sent a pass to Mathieu Carle, who blasted a shot from the point. Ryan Russell tipped Mathieu Carle’s shot past Manitoba goaltender Cory Schneider. Kyle Chipchura also earned an assist on the play. The game remained scoreless until 1:42 of the final period when Jason Krog beat goalie Marc Denis to tie the game while on the power play.
At 1:48 of the extra period, Nolan Baumgartner scored to give the Moose the win.
Hamilton outshot the Moose, 36-20.
