Little League set to party on May 2 in Stoney Creek


One of the rites of spring begins anew as the 2009 season gets under way on Saturday, May 9 for Stoney Creek Optimist Little League with a huge celebration.

The day will include the Parade of Players, fun and food for the entire family and friends, at Stoney Creek Optimist Little League Park, thanks to Piller’s Sausages and Deli and Cooper Tire starting at 9:30 a.m. SCOLL has extended an invitation to former players, coaches, family members of Stoney Creek Optimist Little League and the community down to the park to help kick off the season.

A limited amount of space for the 2009 SCOLL season is still available for all levels. Children age four to 15 and who live within the Stoney Creek Optimist Little League boundaries are eligible to enroll for T-Ball to Junior Ball. Any player looking to register can do so at SCOLL’s website, www.eteamz.com/scoll, or at the park on opening day and will have a $25 late fee added to the registration fee.

This year, approximately 400 children will compete in several divisions of play in baseball at Stoney Creek Optimist Little League.
