MAC 17U girls scale the volleyball ladder

The 57th ranked Mountain Athletic Club volleyball 17-under girls moved all the way up to finishing fourth in Division 1 Tier 2 of the 17U National Championships held in Ottawa.

Finishing second in pool play, MAC defeated Quebec’s Limolou, 25-21, 25-20, the Oakville Thunder 16 Blue 25-20, 25-21, but lost to the Alberta NAVC Green Pandas, 25-22, 18-25, 14-16. Finishing first in the power pools, MAC defeated the Ottawa Maverick Outlaws, 27-29, 25-17, 18-16; Alberta LVC Lethbridge, 22-25, 25-16, 15-10, and NCVC Ottawa 16, 25-16, 25-20.

In the quarter finals, MAC defeated the Peel Selects ’92, 26-24, 25-20, and then fell to SSI Fortius of Lethbridge Alberta, 16-25, 24-26, in the semi finals.

In the bronze medal match, MAC was defeated by the Sudbury Chill, 22-25, 16-25.

MAC 17U girls are coached by Denis Levesque of Kilbride and Jenn Eccles of Burlington.
