Hamilton Thunderbirds are still looking….for their first senior Intercounty Baseball League win of the 2009 season. On Saturday (May 23) the Dodgers handed the Thunderbirds their sixth consecutive loss, downing Hamilton 7-2 in Oshawa.
Brandyn Agnew pitched eight strong innings for the Dodgers win, scattering 12 hits and giving up two unearned runs. He struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter as the Dodgers finally got their home opener in after three failed attempts.
Peter Bako had two hits, including a solo homer, and James Kottaras had three hits and drove in a run for Oshawa, now 3-1 on the season. Tyler Patzalek also had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for Oshawa.
Ryan Noak was the loser for Hamilton, allowing six runs – four earned – on 10 hits with three strikeouts and three walks. Tim Hebner, Mitch Peragine and Devin Coburn all had two hits for the Thunderbirds. The Dodgers visit Bernie Arbour Stadium on Sunday (May 24) for a 2 p.m. game.
