Reunion highlights Little League tourney

Remember when the weather started to get warm and you couldn’t wait to get back down to the ballpark for another great season of baseball, friends and community spirit? The time has come for us to get back together and reminisce about those times, and the games and the camaraderie that was, and is still, such a large part of the Stoney Creek community.

On Friday July 17, Stoney Creek Optimist Little League is asking all former players, coaches and volunteers to attend the Stoney Creek Optimist Little League Alumni Reunion. This a fantastic opportunity to return to their former stomping grounds, see old friends and teammates and enjoy some great baseball as Stoney Creek hosts the opening games of the 2009 Major District Championship.

The road to the Little League World Series starts here. Games will start at 3:30 p.m. with last year’s two finalists, High Park taking on Erindale followed by Stoney Creek playing Oakville at 6:30 p.m. The night will conclude with the 8:30 p.m. game between Dundas and Ancaster. The winner of this tournament represents District 1 at the Ontario Little League Provincials.
