Ryan Hart ran his record to 4-0 as the Royals downed the Hamilton Thunderbirds 9-4 in Intercounty Baseball League play.
Hart allowed only one run on three hits with no walks and six strikeouts over six innings in the senior circuit tilt on Tuesday (June 23). Sean Reilly led the Royals with two hits and three RBI while Frankie Hare added two hits and scored two runs.
Former Royal Mike Fortuna was the loser for Hamilton, giving up five runs, only two earned, on five hits, three walks and four strikeouts before leaving the game with an injury in the fifth inning.
Adam Durfee had a solo home run for Hamilton in the fifth inning while Darnell Duckett had three hits.
Each team had 10 hits. Hamilton’s record fell to 2-18.
Hamilton travels to Barrie to play the Baycats on Thursday, and will be host to the Brantford Red Sox on Friday. Game time at Bernie Arbour Stadium on Friday is 7:30 p.m.
