Rugby Mountaineers overcome slow start to dull Sting

Mohawk’s rugby team improved its Ontario Colleges Athletic Association record to 4-1 on Tuesday (Oct. 20) in North York, whipping the Seneca Sting, 52-29. Chris VanSickle had two tries, seven converts and a penalty. John Packer and Joel Clarke also had two tries apiece and Riley Cronsberry scored one.

Coach Alex Paris said it wasn’t a bad game, but there were several mental errors.

“We had a slow start and had to play chase for the first 25 minutes” said Paris. “It was a good build up for the upcoming match with Trent University.” That game will be on Saturday (Oct. 24) at noon at Mohawk Sports Park.
