The host Humber Hawks won both the men’s and women’s titles in the Humber Cup Invitational Volleyball Tournament in Etobicoke on Saturday (Nov. 14).
The Humber women downed Mohawk 25-17, 27-25 in the gold medal match. Both teams had gone 4-1 in round robin play. The Mountaineers reached the final dispatching Fanshawe, 25-22, 25-21, in the semi finals.
In the men’s section, Mohawk was 4-1 in the round robin, good for second place, but lost 25-20, 26-24, to Fanshawe in the semis. The Falcons went on to play Humber and the Hawks won 21-25, 25-18, 15-6 in the championship tilt.
