The Mohawk men’s basketball team dropped a 75-72 decision to the Durham Lords of Oshawa in the consolation final of the 32nd George Brown Invitational Tournament in Toronto on Saturday (Jan. 9).
Ricky Heath had 15 points as did Nick Fadayel, who added 11 rebounds.
The Mountaineers ended up in the consolation match by splitting their first two games. They lost 74-47 to St. Lawrence of Kingston in their opener. Mike Soluk scored 11 points and Alex Reis added seven.
Mohawk bounced back big-time in their second game, whipping St. Clair 95-61. Tanner Lane led the way with 18 points. Heath had 17, Soluk and Fadayel contributed 12 each.
