Lady Avalanche announce new head coach


avalanche_040110Hamilton Lady Avalanche announced that Jimmy Sinclair will serve as the new head coach for the 2010 season.

Jimmy Sinclair, has been involved in soccer in North America for more than 30 years. He has played professional soccer for the Hamilton Steelers, Buffalo Stallions, and the Tacoma Stars. Sinclair has coached youth soccer with many organizations including Mount Hamilton and Oakville Soccer Clubs. He has further coached various men’s teams in the Hamilton area and also played in the Ontario Premier Division until the age of 50.

“Sinclair is an accomplished teacher of the game. He is a great motivator and competitor. His technical expertise combined with his adaptive coaching approach and love of the game makes him the perfect coach to head the avalanche in 2010,” commented Valdi Greco. “This is truly an exciting opportunity, not only for me, but also for female athletes in the city of Hamilton and surrounding areas who have reached the required standards to play at the top level. It also provides a goal for youth players in the district to aspire to says, Jimmy Sinclair.”

The Hamilton Lady Avalanche compete in the W-League of the USL in the Northern Division. The Avalanche face a challenging schedule of opponents for the 2010 season which include Laval Comets, Ottawa Fury, Toronto Lady Lynx, Quebec City, and Rochester Ravens.

The Avalanche will kick off their home season against Ottawa at Brian Timmins Stadium on May 30 , 2010 at 3 pm.
