The McMaster University Football team will play a pre-season game against perennial Vanier Cup favourites, Laval University, in August in Quebec City.
McMaster football fall training camp will open on Monday, Aug. 23 and the team will leave for Quebec City after practise on Friday, Aug. 27. The teams will have an integrated practise the following day, enabling the Marauder players and staff to work with their Laval counterparts as both teams prepare for conference play.
“This is an excellent opportunity for our players to experience something different and to see how one of the most successful programs in Canada runs training camp,” said McMaster coach Stefan Ptaszek.
“We’ve had pre-season scrimmages before, but playing a team like Laval should be great preparation heading into OUA (Ontario University Athletics) play.”
The trip to Quebec will wrap up with a pre-season game on Sunday, Aug. 29 at PEPS Stadium, which will again host the Vanier Cup on Nov. 27.
