Tryouts are continuing for the CANUSA Games, the annual friendly competitions between Hamilton and Flint, Michigan.
Billed as North America’s largest and longest running international games, this years events will take place on the Aug. 6-8 weekend in Flint. The first games were held in 1958 in Flint and have alternated annually between the two cities.
Upcoming tryouts include:
Boys Basketball: Sir Allan MacNab High School, Monday, June 21, 6 to 9 p.m. Players are needed for ages 9 to 17 and coaches are needed for teams in the 10, 11 and 13-year-old groups. Tryouts move to Hill Park Secondary School as of July 5.
Girls Basketball: Hill Park High School, Wednesday, June 23, 6 to 9 p.m. Players born 1999 and 1995 are needed.
Flag Football (Exhibition Sport): Tryouts are June 23, 6:30 p.m., at Dofasco Recreation Park. Boys ages 10 and under, 12 and under are needed. Contact Frank at firstname.lastname@example.org
Ice Hockey (Exhibition Sport): Tryouts are in the first week of July but all interested must pre-register with CANUSA Office (905-546-2424, ext. 2537) before June 30. Players 12 years and under are needed. Tryout cost is $10.00.
Soccer: Players are needed in all age groups and coaches are needed for the 18 and under boys’ team. Contact email@example.com
Tennis: Rosedale Tennis Club, Saturday, June 19, 4 p.m. and players in all age groups are needed.
Track and Field: Mohawk Sports Park, Saturday, June 26, noon to 3 p.m.
Girls Volleyball: Cardinal Newman High School, Monday, June 28, 6 to 9 p.m. Players are needed for the 15 and under and 17 and under teams.
