Thunderbirds twin-bill available on Cable 14

Cable 14 and Rogers Cable in Ottawa are teaming to broadcast the Hamilton Thunderbirds-Ottawa Fat Cats senior Intercounty Baseball League doubleheader on Sunday (July 11).

The game will be available to all Cogeco, Shaw and Source Cable subscribers in the Hamilton and Haldimand service area. Cable 14 will pick up the feed from Rogers Cable in Ottawa and broadcast the games on a one-hour tape delay starting at 2 p.m.

“This is a huge announcement,” said Thunderbirds’ owner Drew Brady. “Without the support from the community, our sponsors and the media, like Cable 14, the team would not exist.

“With the exposure that Cable 14 will bring by broadcasting the doubleheader, it is a step in the right direction for all local sports.”

Brent Rickert, Cable 14’s general manager, said Cable 14 was pleased to be able to provide local fans with the opportunity “to watch the Birds chew on the Cats in a role-reversal of athletic proportions.”
