Rain forces T-Birds to play twin-bills

Thursday night’s Hamilton Thunderbirds-Panthers game in Kitchener was called due to rain.

The teams were in the bottom half of the third inning with Kitchener just taking a 3-1 lead when the skies opened up. The senior Intercounty Baseball League teams will play the game tonight (Friday) as part of a doubleheader at Bernie Arbour Stadium starting at 6:45 p.m.

Tickets for the twin-bill will see a $3 increase on the normal single game prices.

On Sunday, the Thunderbirds and the Brantford Red Sox will play another doubleheader to make up for the game originally scheduled for June 2 in Brantford, which was rained out. Sunday’s game at Bernie Arbour will start at 2 p.m. The second game of the double header will see Brantford as the home team.

Tickets for the doubleheader will see a $3 increase.
