Mohawk cagers, volleyballers both in first place

Mohawk scored Ontario Colleges Athletic Association victories in women’s volleyball and men’s basketball at the
Fennell Gymnasium on Wednesday (Nov. 3).

Victims in both cases were the Lambton Lions of Sarnia.

The Mountaineers beat the Lions, 90-77, in men’s hoops. Mohawk improved to 3-1 with a third consecutive victory and is tied with Niagara atop the OCAA West Region standings, each with six points. The Knights have a spotless record of 3-0. Lambton is 0-1.

Meanwhile, the Mohawk women’s volleyball team took three straight games from the Lions and improved to 4-0. Mohawk is tied with Nipissing of North Bay for the West lead. The Lakers have an identical record. Lambton slipped to 0-3.
