Redeemer teams target cancer research

Ancaster’s Redeemer University College is hosting basketball games on Dec. 8 and volleyball games on Dec. 9 – both nights will be in support of cancer research.

On the Dec. 8 the basketball teams will be playing for Breast Cancer and the following night the Royals’ volleyball teams will be playing for Prostate Cancer.

Redeemer competes in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association. The basketball doubleheaders will have Fanshawe College visiting with 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. starts. Conestoga College will provide the men’s and women’s volleyball competition. Both twin bills have 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. starts for the women and men respectively.

Dec. 8 will have a pink theme among many other festivities and Dec. 9 will have a blue theme, again with many other festivities. All proceeds will go to cancer research.

These events have become a staple on the Redeemer Royals calendar. Last year, Redeemer raised the most money out of any OCAA school during the Breast Cancer Campaign.
