The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Adirondack Phantoms 3-2 on Wednesday night. Max Pacioretty stretched his goal scoring streak to three games as he notched two goals in tonight’s game while Curtis Sanford earned his fourth straight win stopping 39 of 41 shots.
The Bulldogs opened the game’s scoring at 10:26 of the first frame. David Desharnais received the puck from J.T. Wyman before sending a pass to Max Pacioretty, who was positioned in front of the net. Pacioretty proceeded to rifle a shot past Adirondack starting goaltender Johan Backlund.
The Phantoms tied the game 1-1 at 10:30 of the second stanza. Marc-Andre Bourdon sent a long-lead pass to Luke Pither, who skated in alone on a breakaway. Pither snapped a shot over the glove of Hamilton starting goaltender Curtis Sanford.
Pacioretty tallied his second goal of the game at 10:55 of the middle period. Brendon Nash sent the puck to Pacioretty, who fired a shot past Backlund and into the net.
The Bulldogs increased their lead to 3-1 at 12:47 of the final frame. Gabriel Dumont collected the puck in the corner before sending a cross-crease pass to Andrew Conboy. Conboy tapped the puck past Backlund and across the goal line.
Danny Syvret made the game 3-2 with a power-play goal at 17:55 of the third stanza. Erik Gustafsson received the puck from Jonathon Kalinski before sending the puck back to the point where Syvret was stationed. Syvret blasted a shot that sailed through traffic and beat Sanford.
The ‘Dogs will continue their six-game road trip when they travel to Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario to meet the Binghamton Senators for a game on Friday, November 26th at 7:30 p.m.
