Marauders sweep into second place

The McMaster Marauders men’s volleyball team finished off a successful weekend with a pair of straight set sweeps in Ontario University Athletics play.

On Saturday, the York Lions were the victims and on Friday the Ryerson Rams fell.

Against the Lions, fourth-year middle Tyler Santoni (Kingston) led the charge for the Marauders with 13 points and nine kills. Josh Lichty (St. Catharines) was also impressive for the Marauders, posting 12 digs.

The win puts the Marauders in second place heading into the New Year. The team’s next OUA match-up is Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. against the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (6-4).

On Friday, the Marauders defeated Rams in straight sets. Kevin Stevens (Winnipeg) led the Marauders with 13 points and 10 kills in the win. Christopher Spack (Orleans) led the Marauders defensive efforts with eight digs.
