Real McCoys’ win streak stopped in Whitby

All good things come to an end, and so did the Dundas Real McCoys five-game Major League Hockey winning streak. Seth Gray and Colin Baker each scored twice to lead the host Whitby Dunlops to a 5-4 win over the McCoys at the Iroquois Arena Wednesday (Dec. 1).

Whitby won the first period 2-1, and Dundas reversed the totals as both clubs skated off the ice tied at 3-3 after two periods. The Dunnies shaded the Valley Town crew 2-1 in the final period and skated off with the victor following a wild penalty filled frame. Dundas took nine penalties while Whitby took eight, which ranged from high sticking and hooking to fighting, trash talking, and verbal abuse.

Chris Sebastian, with two goals, and Chris McLean and TJ Sakaluk replied for the Real McCoys.

Friday night (Dec. 3), Dundas returns home for a rematch with the Brantford Blast which will kick off the Real McCoys December Food Drive and annual Teddy Bear Toss in the JL Grightmire Arena. Game time is 7:45 p.m.
