Marauders sweep Hawks in women’s volleyball

The McMaster Marauders women’s volleyball squad defeated the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks in three straight sets on the road Saturday. McMaster took the first game 25-21, went on to win the second 26-24 and finished off the Golden Hawks by a score of 25-19 in the third of the Ontario University Athletics tilt.

Kailee Stock, a second-year hitter from Newmarket, led the Marauders with 10 points on nine kills. Larissa Puhach (Burlington) led the Marauders defensive efforts with 15 digs.

Alexandra Mingay (Toronto) was the lead contributor for the Golden Hawks with 10 points.

The Marauders now sit in a three-way tie for first place in the OUA West division. The team takes on the fifth place Waterloo Warriors Sunday (Jan. 9) at 6 p.m.
